Football's governing body, FIFA, has released a statement concerning today's raid by police at the luxury Baur Au Lac Hotel, scene of raids in May that saw seven FIFA officials arrested and charged, triggering a crisis from which the organisation is still reeling. The officials who were arrested at 6a.m this morning are being held in custody pending extradition, the Swiss authorities said. The US arrest requests say the officials are suspected of accepting bribes involving millions of dollars.

Siasia; I Take All The Blame For Dream Team Collapse.
Nigeria’s U-23 team coach, Samson Siasia, has accepted blame for the Dream Team semi-final loss to Burkina Faso at the 11th African Games football tournament in Congo-Brazzaville.
Burkina Faso defeated Nigeria 3-1 on Tuesday to qualify for the final of the football event against Senegal. And Siasia points the finger of blame at himself.
“I am not a man of excuses,” he said.
“I take all the blame for this collapse and will certainly make amends before the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations.

Nigeria's Basketball team, D'Tigers win 1st continental title (Pics)
Nigeria b-ball group, D'Tigers won its first continental title at the 2015 African Basketball Championship which held in Tunisia yesterday August 30th. The b-ball group beat defending champions Angola by 74 points to 65.
Their triumph at yesterday's match gave them automatic capability to take part in the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.

Likewise D'Tigers' shooting guard, Chamberlain Oguchi bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2015 Afrobasket title

We’re not out of title race –Pillars
Nigeria Professional Football League champions, Kano Pillars, have said their record home loss on Sunday does not mean they are out of the title race.
Pillars saw their 12-year unbeaten home match run in the NPFL come to an end when they lost 2-1 to Nasarawa United at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday. The loss was the second consecutive one they have suffered under coach Mohammed Babaganaru.
