But Pillars’ Media Officer, Idris Malikawa, said although the loss was sad one for the club but it was a celebration for the country’s football thereby making the club proud.
“The record that was broken on Sunday was a very big one and Kano Pillars are proud to have such a record as theirs,” Malikawa said.
“No club will be happy to lose a match especially one on its own turf but this loss was a special one so it leaves us with memories to cherish as the club with the longest home unbeaten streak in the Nigerian league.”
“He added that the club’s coach, Babaganaru, is under no pressure after the losses adding that Pillars’ title defence dream is still within reach.
He said, “We have not lost sight of our goal; which is to defend our title successfully. There are still up to 13 matches to be played and anything can happen in football.
“Football is about either winning or losing, so the coach is not under any pressure. We have just identified the weak spots in the team and we will work on it to achieve our aim of defending our title.”
Pillars are sixth in the table with 37 points from 25 matches. They are 11 points behind league leaders, Enyimba.
