Our Defeat In Nigeria Was A Mistake – Cameroon Coach Warns Super Eagles Ahead Of Clash

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has insisted his team’s 4-0 collapse in Nigeria was a fluke and the African champions will now play for national pride when both teams clash again in Yaounde tomorrow. The Indomitable Lions took the game to their hosts on Friday but after Odion Ighalo scored the first goal in the 29th minute, Nigeria gained in confidence to run away 4-0 winners in Uyo.

Broos said he did not have his full team in Nigeria.

“Our defeat in Nigeria was a mistake. And we did not have the full complement of our team,” the Belgian coach lamented. “We will give our best in tomorrow’s game and play for pride.

“I expect a difficult game, but we are ready.”

The Super Eagles top their qualifying group with nine points from three matches, while Zambia are now second on four points.

Cameroon have two points to be third with Algeria bottom of the standings on a point.
